    We have 7 Beneficiaries:

    1. Yuba Sutter Veterans Stand Down

Stand Down is an intervention that was conceived from the ground up specifically for veterans. It is designed to transform the despair and immobility of homeless into the momentum necessary to get into recovery, to resolve legal issues, to seek employment, to access health and benefits, to reconnect with the community and to get off the streets

    2. Nevada County Veteran Stand Down

Stand Down is an intervention that was conceived from the ground up specifically for veterans. It is designed to transform the despair and immobility of homeless into the momentum necessary to get into recovery, to resolve legal issues, to seek employment, to access health and benefits, to reconnect with the community and to get off the streets

    3. Wreaths Across America Yuba Sutter

The donation of wreaths from the Worcester Wreath Co. began as a personal tribute from the Worcester family to military veterans who gave their lives for this country. The family quietly made these wreath donations to Arlington National Cemetery for nearly 15 years before a photo set them on a path they hadn’t dreamed about. The photo — of the company’s wreaths at Arlington covered in snow — went viral in 2006. Shortly thereafter, the Worcester Wreath Co. began receiving unsolicited money from people who were touched by the wreaths and what they represented, and who wanted to participate by sponsoring wreaths themselves. This money was returned to donors because there was no mechanism in place for the family to accept the donations at that time.

Alta MOAA is proud to support this program locally.

    4. Yuba Sutter Naval Sea Cadets

The US Naval Sea Cadet program may very well be the "best-kept secret in America".  Established by an act of Congress and sponsored by The US Navy League and the US Navy, we and other Sea Cadet units from around the country provide young Americans the opportunities to learn the values of our naval history and traditions including patriotism, courage, self-reliance and kindred virtues.  We espouse the US Navy's core values of "Honor, Courage and Commitment".

    5. Civil Air Patrol Beale Composite Squadron 19

Civil Air Patrol, Beale Composite Squadron 19 is based at Sutter County Airport in Yuba City, and is made up of both Senior (adult) members and Cadets.  Cadets range from 12 through 18 years old, and range in rank form Cadet Airman Basic and can rise as high as Cadet Colonel. Senior Members perform such duties and Aerial and Ground Search and Rescue, Counterdrug Operations, Homeland Security and other administrative duties.

    6. Air Force Junior Reserve Training Corps

The mission of Air Force Junior ROTC is to "Develop citizens of character dedicated to serving their nation and community." Air Force Junior ROTC is not an USAF accessions program and cadets are never under any obligation to join the military. Air Force Junior ROTC is a Title 10 US Code mandated citizenship training program that is designed to educate and train high school cadets in citizenship, promote community service, instill personal responsibility, character, and self-discipline. The program achieves this through classroom education in air and space fundamentals and hands on learning opportunities in a number of fun and challenging extra-curricular activities.

The Air Force Junior ROTC program is grounded in the Air Force core values of “integrity first, service before self, and excellence in all we do.”

    7. Navy Junior Reserve Training Corps

The NJROTC program was established by Public Law in 1964 which may be found in Title 10, U.S. Code, Chapter 102. The program is conducted at accredited secondary schools throughout the nation, and taught by instructors who are retired Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard officers and enlisted personnel. (“Gray” area reservists and medically retired personnel may also be eligible to instruct in the program) The NJROTC accredited curriculum emphasizes citizenship and leadership development, as well as our maritime heritage, the significance of sea power, and naval topics such as the fundamentals of naval operations, seamanship, navigation and meteorology. Classroom instruction is augmented throughout the year by extra-curricular activities of community service, academic, athletic, drill and orienteering competitions, field meets, flights, visits to naval or other activities, marksmanship sports training, and physical fitness training. Electronic classroom equipment, textbooks, uniforms, educational training aids, travel allowance, and a cost-share of instructors' salaries are provided by the Navy.
